It’s amazing how one could live in such a place. Whilst the Team was busy with the revival in Virginia, they heard of a man who lived in a condition that no human being should live in. Mr Appie is the owner of this house, though the community tried to help him but his life remained the same. After they had cleaned the house, he would go back to the street and bring all the filth he could find.

He needed help not only on the physical but also spiritually. It was clear that this man was bound. His lifestyle was very weird. He brought home every dirty thing he found in the streets. From his bedroom to the kitchen, and even the bathroom it was all packed with dirty stuff. The sitting room was not in a condition of welcoming visitors. He was actually sane in his mind but was bound by demons of filth. He could relate to people in a rational manner. When the Team went to check the place, oh it was very bad. There was a lot that needed to be done, from inside –out.

Firstly the Gospel was preached to him and he gave his life over to Christ. This was the start to a big breakthrough. The Team called him Uncle and didn’t use his name that made him live like an animal.
Then the work began, with women from the local church together with the Team. It took the whole day for the whole place, every room was dirty. The men took over the yard. They took out everything that was not supposed to be there the grass which looked like a bush was also dealt with. The outside toilet which was blocked was fixed.

The walls were full of ashes because this house once burned. The furniture which was inside was old, rusty and broken.
The curtains were taken out and so was the bed that Uncle slept on. The bed was broken and was not in a condition that one could sleep on. Everything in that house was in a bad condition.

The dishes and pots were old and extremely dirty: not hygienic for a human. The bathroom had turned into a dustbin. It was full of refuse and no longer functioned.
As the work continued, Uncle found a bag in which he put his important documents. It was long lost in the junk. As he opened it, he found his I.D. and he sobbed because he could not do a thing without his I.D. He once thought that it was lost or stolen. He said that people used to come and help him clean the house but his I.D. never came out. He thanked God that he has found it because the Team and church members have set their foot in his house. He was overjoyed.
It was good to see Uncle being cooperative. He was tired of the rubbish that was cramping his life. He was throwing everything away. With the help of Christ, he wanted to start a new life and let go of all the filth in his life.

We really thank God who provided for Uncle by touching the hearts of the women in the local church. Uncle received new blankets, clothes, dishes, pots and cutlery. The women also gave curtain so that the house can look like a home. Uncle also received a bed that was ten times better than the one he had. A paraffin stove was also bought for Uncle, as well as groceries. He now understood that he was saved and saw the love of God in action. He had dread locks which were cut off. Every night he came to the revival and never went back home without food. The house is now painted and is in a good condition. Uncle attends church every Sunday.

The Team made three drop – offs of rubbish at the dumping site. That’s how much of junk uncle had gathered. The yard was left in a good condition though it needs constant maintenance.Uncle could not believe what Christ had done for him. He truly is seeing the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Maria Thebe

Maria Thebe was born like every normal child, in February 1980. Her eye sight was normal. She did not experience any problems with her vision. When she reached the age of 5years, she started experiencing a problem with her vision. She was then taken to doctors, who referred her to different hospitals for a check up. The condition of her eyes grew worse and deteriorated. Suddenly her vision was impaired and was declared partially blind. The colour of her eyes changed and became like that of a cat. In 1998 as she went for eye treatment, she was told to wait for coneals. She had to wait for somebody to die in order to get a transplant. Instead of being glad that at last things will shape up and that her vision will be ok, she became discouraged because of the discrimination she received. She kept on going for treatments and her situation became worse. She was not even given spectacles as she was told that they would not help her. She could not read properly, she had to put the book close to eyes in order to read. She waited many years for the coneals in order to have the transplant.But there was no help she was receiving. After all these years of seeking help and waiting, she came to the revival held in Virginia. On the very first night of her attendance, was prayed for and instantly she could see. After Pastor prayed for her she just kept on crying and could not believe what God had done in her life. She went home and read a book without struggling. Her vision was not blurring any more. She could identify colours from afar. She could see her way very clear. The colour of her eyes was restored, they were brown. She looked at people without feeling ashamed.

Khangelani Botha

Khangelani Botha had very long dread locks for a long time. It was the hairstyle he loved so much and never thought that he will have to change it someday. Upon hearing that dread locks are not acceptable to Christians, he decided to make right. He understood that his hair – style was not pleasing to God. He took a bold step of cutting it. He came to the service one night with a bald head and he looked as a child of God should. He also had a problem with his spine. God healed him when Pastor prayed for him. He was left with joy in his life.

Cecilia Mosia

Cecilia Mosia came to the revival walking with a quadra crutch. She could not walk on her own as she needed assistance. She went to the alter call, was prayed for and she was walking without any aid. She now walks tall without a crutch.
Sister Puleng Phofolo had a problem with her right hand. Whenever she puts it in cold water she would be stricken by a severe pain. Before Pastor Tilotsane prayed for her, she took a test by putting it into the cold. As she was doing so, she kept on crying due to the pain. She could not endure it but after she was prayed for, she was healed and the pain stopped.This granny had sore knees. She could not bend due to the pain. She knelt to see if the pain was still there. She confirmed that the pain was gone and was able to walk without a problem.

Queen Sebotoane of Holy Life Family

I am a first born with two brothers, I grew up in Henneman then later moved to Virginia. We were raised up by a single mother who was unemployed and stayed with my grandmother and my two uncles who were both alcoholics. At times my mother would go look for job throughout the day till late at night and we would be left all alone until she comes back. She would come back with a broken heart as she would have left the house the whole day, all for nothing and she still remained without a job. It was not easy being raised by a single parent. There were times we would sleep without food, and times we went to school bare footed. Even though those were the circumstances we kept on keeping on, as Paul says “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.”

My mother then decided to sell alcohol as her source of income as a result of being unable to find employment. Things started to become better, but believe me it did not last for long, and then we went back to square one. But God sustained us in those conditions even though we didn’t know Him. But His love is unconditional; He knows every single one of us, knitted us together in our mothers wombs and knows every fibre of our being. I then started visiting born again Christian churches particularly when there were revivals, but I was not yet born again. As I was not saved, reading the Bible and searching for scriptures was foreign to me. So for the sake of knowledge and erasing my shame and disgrace I started reading the bible. Due to the pressure from a close family friend I had, I stopped going to those revivals and attended the Methodist church.

Actually my mother accepted Christ before me and that helped me a lot. I then started visiting her church and really enjoyed myself a lot and was tempted to go again the following week. I went back again and was given a warm welcome. When I was told that I was special, that worked wonders in my life. As time went on I just decided to stop going to church for no apparent reason. That was not a nice period in my life. But there came a particular day when my mother invited me yet again to a revival, I went and I enjoyed myself. On Thursday the 27th of July 2000, the scripture of Daniel 6 was preached “MENE-MENE-TEKEL” elaborating that the devils mission and control upon our lives is over, and that the hand of God will be upon us. That day I gladly responded to the altar call and accepted Christ as the Lord and Saviour of my life. What a joyful moment it was as the bible says, “There is more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents.”

But unfortunately people of that church were not taking salvation serious. They did not practice what they preached and right there we started being casual in the things of God. We then started a music group at church and missed services due to the fact that we went to festivals seeking support from other groups. We needed finances for the success of the group. We would also go to Macufe for festivals and got paid for our performances. All I can say is that we were desperate, wanted quick money and we were not stable and firm in our salvation at all. But God still preserved me up until I met with Holy Life Ministries, which was then I realized the authentic salvation. Here the true Gospel is preached with no compromise.

In 2005 at the Holy Life Ministries Fire Conference God spoke specifically about the people who are refusing to respond to the calling of God upon their lives. As the altar-call was made I id not respond. I just turned a blind eye and said I am by no chance one of them. God’s ways are not like ours, nor His thoughts like ours. On the last service of the Fire Conference, the Pastor prayed for me and I was arrested by the power of God, right there when I woke up I couldn’t feel anything. Immediately when I arrived at home I felt a huge heaviness on my shoulders that I have never felt before.

My presence within the group did not feel right anymore. When I was with them I felt as though a sword was piercing my heart. I did not enjoy being with the people I once loved so much. It’s an experience I can’t clearly explain even up to this day it as both devastating and scary.
Up until January 2006 during prayer and fasting when God confirmed my calling. That is when I decided to let go and let God, I accepted the calling. As time went by I realized that one cannot run away from God’s calling or plan. Truly you can run but you won’t go far, you can give reasons but you will end up speechless.

Since I was a child I had this burden in me of helping the needy in whichever way possible, but God has always worked it out in His own divine way. There is nothing as joyful and wonderful as seeing people being transformed and their lives changed. There is nothing that fulfils my heart as that, working for God has been the best experience ever. That is what I am experiencing right now within the Travelling Team. We have what we call Mission
Day, were we clean people’s houses, specifically those who are in need. We clothe them, buy them food and other basic needs. Above all we make sure that get to know Jesus and accept Him as their personal Saviour. It is so pleasant to see the smile and joy in their faces as they see the works of God upon their lives.

During my journey in the calling my mother got sick and the sad part is she lived with my two younger brothers. She was so dear to us. I was the one who was supposed to be there for her because I am the only girl and the eldest as well.
But I was not there most of the time as I would be serving the Lord. But what overwhelmed my heart is that despite her condition, she understood and had no problem with what I was doing. The only problem I had was with my brothers because they were not born- again. They would tell me stories and unpleasant words.

They would tell me just how unfair I was, that I do not care for our mother and being their older sister. They felt that I was abandoning our mother at the worst time in her life. But in the midst of it all I knew that God would never give me a burden that I could not handle. It was tough but God saw me through it all.

In all the challenges that I faced during my journey this was the worst of them. I remember this one day at the Fire Conference; I received a call and was told that she was very bad. But even under those circumstances I could not leave the Conference just like that. I decided to put God first. There was a time when she needed me the most but still I could not be there. But God is always faithful, she provided one of our relatives to take care of her, and bear in mind that she only came for a visit and was returning back, but she sacrificed to stay for as long as could to help my mother.

After all her prolonged illness she passed away in 2008, I did not expect that at all, but at the end the will of God prevails. It is not that I did not love my mother; heaven knows how dear she was to me. But time just did not allow me to be with her the times I wanted to. When she passed away we were at a revival in Virginia, my home place. It was God’s timing as Team members were there to give me all the support I needed and I was nearer to my family. I am really thankful to God for them. But I did not stop singing at the revival as I am part of the worship team. The Lord gave me the grace to serve at the revival. He also gave the strength not to cry in-front of people but the revival itself empowered me.

I can’t help but appreciate and exalt Him. Now I clearly understand why God called me. Many are the plans in a man’s heart but it is the Lords purpose that prevails. God made my dream of becoming an artist in His own perfect way. I am truly fulfilled without doubt. One of my responsibilities in the Team that I enjoy so much is taking care of those who are in need of clothes. Well when it comes to preaching, I just allow God to use me as He wills. Going out to the streets whether doing open airs or house to house visits, it humbles me to see how many people are in need of Christ.

When I look at my life all I see is the endless grace of God upon my life and I know that the best is yet to come. Nothing will ever separate me from the love of God but will keep on holding on to Him till I see Him face to face.
